Hi,
As this issue was really painful for our workflow we bought a new machine and we do not have this problem anymore.
I've created a legacy title with quite a few text lines in it. So, I masked each line and want to dissolve them in one at a time. So, since I don't need it to be fancy, I just dropped a cross dissolve on each title layer. However, this results in a black screen within my mask for the first two frames, then it dissolves in normally for the rest of the transition. Is this a known bug? Is there a setting I can change to make these cross dissolves work normally on title layers with masks? Of course, I can easily keyframe all of my title layers' opacity, but with many title layers that all need it, being able to hit command-D is a lot faster... if it worked, that is.
Thank you for your tip. This has saved my ***.
OSX Mojave, CC2019 and ExFat don't like each other. Lesson learnt
I'm glad there's a work around for this until Adobe get it fixed
To make this process faster for the time being, I thought I would copy one clip and paste the opacity attributes to the other layers... BUT, when I do that, I get a layer telling me the opacity is at 100%, but not showing up at all because it's also copying the mask and not just the opacity keyframes.
How would i adjust the settings you are referring to?
That is interesting. Thank you for the update.
So you are able to import. But right afterwards, PP crashes.
Can you try to set the view in the Project panel to list instead of Thumbnails?
Also can you try trashing the preferences like Meg suggested?
Sadly not, Kevin.
When I import pictures into a timeline, I adjust the size of the pictures to match my timeline in Photoshop BEFORE I import in PPro
For now, the quickest way to do it is to copy the keyframes themselves, then click in the effect controls window and command-V to paste them to each layer at the point where I want the opacity to start fading up. I would love to know why a simple cross-dissolve doesn't work properly.
I have no problem importing with the latest version. This is good news, thank you! Have you figured out the cause of the bug?
John, if you don’t mind, can you explain the steps in photoshop and the transfer to premiere briefly? I don’t usually work with photoshop, im new to that too, but it seems like that is what i will have to start using first.
When i edit text in essential graphics there is no highlight to indicate what I am editing. It does allow me to edit but it is really cumbersome.
I did try the most recent update and still the same behavior. I have tried different workspace layouts and looked through preferences. Any ideas?
I did see highlighted text when editing at some point.
Thanks!
I used to have the same problem on one of the many systems I have worked on throughout my editing career. Specifically when Cross dissolve is combined with Nested sequences and speed.
It used to happen on random and my workaround was either to export the nested sequence and bring it in as a file (not sure it will work as you want since you have masks), Use opacity keyframes instead of dissolve (or both together), use the dissolve on the clips inside the nested sequence (on on the nested sequence as well sometimes), adjust the speed of the other clip to 51% or 49%, or clear cache and previews.
A word of advice, try to pin-point exactly what's causing the glitch, this can be one of the following: Slow motion, Crop filter, Mask, Dissolve effect. Once you know the culprit I will be able to better troubleshoot and provide you with a workaround
Tip: Instead of wasting time on exporting, just render the problematic section for testing purposes
All right, I'll give that Lagarith a shot, thanks for the recommendation! Yes, all these videos, I have about 60 or so to edit, are all in the same container. Thanks
There are no animation text presets in Premiere. Might be confused with After Effects.
MIght be a scaling issue of your monitor.
If it is set to 125% set it to 100 or 150.
Sometimes resizing the Program window manually will help.
I m on a budget and was wondering would this Mini mac be ok to edit 4k video using Premiere Pro CC? It has AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics with 256 MB of dedicated GDDR5 memory. I also own a Mac Pro with 8Gb ram the 2017 model , but only 128gb SSD hd drive. Thanks for any help , Larry
So sorry you're right :-)
Hi all. I have been filming via an IPad Pro before utilising Premiere Pro to create my video outputs. My issues arise during exporting. I currently set to H.264 and maximum render quality into an MP4 format. However, when the footage has been exported the quality seems to be diminished and I seem to be losing some of my effects. In a nutshell, what are the best settings to export IPad footage and is there a reason why my footage loses quality and effects. Best wishes, Darren
