Re: Premiere Pro CC 2017 0.1 - Most MOV codecs missing

I have the same issue and did the fix, installing QT 7.7.9 without the player and my problem was not resolved. I need the ability to render a H.264 .MOV per client requirements. They will not accept an H.264 .MP4. Any help is appreciated.

Well, it was worth a shot, but NO, updating to 13.0.1 did not help. Still getting a "generic error" message.

I've uninstalled all software for both of these plugins, and am having no luck.

What media do you use, SD, HD, 4K, 8K and from what camera? Post a screen shot of the error message. Without details one can only guess.

Premiere Pro cannot zoom in on still photos

$

Hello all,

I would appreciate any help with this. I am trying to get Premiere Pro to zoom in gradually on a still image. This should be very simple. I enable Video Effects: Motion: Scale and create a keyframe at the beginning and end of the sequence. The beginning keyframe is set to 56% and the end keyframe to 100% (the photo already takes up the full screen at 56%). Instead of zooming in the program window, what it does is stay at 56% until the last keyframe, then jumps to 100%. There is no gradual scaling. There are no other video effects, and Time Remapping is disabled. When I pause the play in the program window, it does in fact scale up, but as soon as I press play, it reverts to 56% and stays there.

Various suggestions in the forum have been ineffectual. For example, changing to linear or continuous beziers makes no difference. Checking Ease In or Ease Out on the keyframes makes no difference.  Is this just a terrible bug, or am I missing something obvious?

OK, here are a couple of screen shots. One of the error message and one of the Quicktime info. Not sure of the camera used since it was from an outside source. ALL clips are from the same camera - some relink and other I get the "generic error" issue.

23.98fps video and audio to 24fps export

Hi, I have footage and an audio mix at 23.98 fps, but need a 24fps Quicktime, what's the best way to do this?

1. 23.98fps Sequence, edit, and export to 24fps?

2. 24fps Sequence, edit, and export to 24fps?

3. Other option?

Thanks!

It is likely you have two keyframes adjacent to each other at the end of the clip. This may be hard to see. Remove all the keyframes, and try again, this time making sure you only have one keyframe at the start and one at the end.

Note: once you put a keyframe in, if you move the playhead and change the setting, Premiere will automatically create a new keyframe at that point. Sometimes this behavior can generate unintended keyframes.

Stereoscopic Workflows?

$

Hello

I've been using Sony Vegas for my stereoscopic edits; but now Premiere has all these VR tools are there any workflows for doing (non-360, conventional 16:9 screen) stereoscopic editing in Premiere?

The main reason for using Vegas is that it natively supports stereoscopic, and you have tools that let you change the convergence on each clip (pushing it toward or away from the audience) and do stuff like add floating windows.

Anyone?

Premiere Pro CC 2019 Black Screen When Using Text Tool

$

Hello,

I have recently updated to Premiere Pro CC 2019 13.0.1 OS Mojave. I now have issues using the text tool. As soon as I apply it the screen on the editing window goes black. I can see the text box outline but not the text itself or the video or image behind it. Once I click the image in the timeline I can see everything including the text but every time I go to edit the text it goes black again. It has become super frustrating since I have to edit basically blind. I have tried Window - Workspaces - Reset to saved layout multiple times, I have made sure that the Renderer is OpenCL and I also tried opening a new file and let the effects window fully load then opened my project. Non of these easy fixes have worked. Does anyone else have any other ideas on how to fix this? My project has tons of text and this problem is making it very hard to complete. I have even tried installing older versions and the same problem keeps happening - which makes me wonder if it is a problem with Mojave?

Render Effects In to Out on Dynamic Link assets stops rendering until clicking on After Effects

I used this example since it happens as well when doing a straight Export Media render in Premiere as well as a batch render in Media Encoder. Except, in Media Encoder, it usually freezes my entire computer. I've done the Purge all in After Effects which used to help but doesn't prevent this holdup in rendering or the freezing system. This seems to only happen when using a dynamic link composition from After Effects. I have a screen recording of what it does when just Render Effects. Once I go back to AE, the rendering starts back up. The first part of the video shows it not rendering until I click back into AE and the second part is another section of the timeline stopping render until I click on AE again, then its fine. I don't want to keep babysitting renders, especially having my batch renders in AME crashing my system. This happened in CC 2018 as well although it didn't happen on the Mac Pro, so it could be a hardware issue.

All adobe programs are updated to latest versions.

If Meg's suggestion doesn't fix it:

Try resetting the preferences:

FAQ: How to reset preferences in Premiere Pro?

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:

Reset a workspace

Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
    • Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn’t work ,try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

I'm using Windows so I doubt the same command will apply. Tried each code but both say they're not recognised as commands.

I know quite a number of colorists who've gone to PC's actually because they could get a dual-boot and use Resolve and some other apps in Linux.

With the Adobe apps did ... sigh.

If Adobe can ever get DL to work reliably, it will be awesome.  I keep hoping that they'll nail it in every major upgrade.  So far, no luck.

I've had a similar issue.  I just did a project that had about 30 DLed links to Keylight renders in Ae, as UltraKey wasn't up to pulling keys my idiot client shot using a Long-GOP 4:2:0 codec.  My issue was related to project bloat in Ae.  It took about 90 seconds to open and save the Ae project, and also, the linked clips in Pr became very sluggish to display in Pr, and rendering would stop there as well.

My recourse was to old-school it and render out all my Comps in Ae and import the renders into Pr.  That was a return to the snappy playback I know and love, when I get it.

I've also learned that Pr won't always display Linked clips unless the corresponding Ae project is open in Ae.  Once the links are established, I can close Ae or open a different project.  The Ae option to always used the highest numbered Ae project in Pr doesn't always work either.  I've had Pr try to open a lower numbered version using the Edit Original function in Pr.

Back to your issue, Ae shouldn't really even have to be open for DL to work.  But, your issue here suggests that it's required.  I suspect it will only be fixed with an application update.  But, you can try the usual routine of deleting your Pr prefs and caches, and see if that helps.

You probably know there's an issue with those trash can Macs with their AMD GPUs, right?  On many of them, you can't use GPU rendering without getting glitches in your video, and using Software Rendering is the workaround.

What I've described here is using CC 2018 on High Sierra (10.13) on a MacPro5,1 with an Nvidia Titan CUDA GPU and 128GB RAM.  I have clients with the trash can Macs who are having the GPU issue.

Same problem here. Not happening in after effects, but failing in Premiere

And if those don't work, try saving your photos to a different format (TIF, PNG, etc.) and replace in Pr.

Re: when I apply track matte key on my clip it becomes smaller

Track Matte isn't a transition effect.

But, you seem to have stumbled onto my major criticism with Track Matte Key in Pr:  The matte will scale with the layer being matted.  The workaround is often to use Ae.  You could try Set Matte instead, but that shares the same issue.  Nesting your matte layer may help, too.  Depends.

Try providing more info, and maybe there's a solution for you without leaving Pr.
