Hmmmm, the option is definitely there for me (pictured below). Did you do a search for the word Finder in the Keyboard Shortcuts window?

How do I download Creative Suite 6? I've downloaded it before yet I cant seem to find it anymore? I'm the owner of this product, I've recently completed a software upate as recommended however upon restarting my Mac Pro I seem to have lost my CS6. I've attempted to find both on my computer and on the internet (including this site) a downloadable copy to no avail. Help!

That's the sign of some pretty shaky footage. No software is going to be perfect at stabilizing stuff with a lot of shake. You can try changing the "Method" parameter in the Warp Stabilizer settings to one of the other options. Each one will give you a slightly different result, but it's unlikely to give you a much better result unfortunately!

Try each of these, 1 at a time:

1.Go to Preferences->Media and uncheck "Enable hardware accelerated decoding" and then restart Premiere.

2. Go to File -> Project Settings -> General and set Render to Software Only mode. See if either of those do it!

Know the feeling. But I'm also a flippin' realist.

They made some choices ... to work with a wider range of media than anyone, and a wider range of gear than anyone ... and between those, given the range of media & gear that makes them build for, they can't possibly test for every combo of OS, gear, and installed programs. I mean ... for some people with a build a while back, Microsoft's onedrive.dll file caused all kinds of pain within PrPro. Delete the file, it worked fine. Reinstall that library file, bang.

But it only was a problem for a small subset of Pc's ... maybe a few percent, I'd guess ... they could have had a couple hundred PC beta people, and still not had one with that issue. I wasn't affected, but clearly there were users that were. It was just one user, btw, who posted here with similar symptoms to others, finally got to the point he stripped his machine of apps, then removed one dll at a time while checking out PrPro. Found that when he removed that dll, PrPro worked perfectly. Reinstall, same problems.

And posted that here. Which of course also got sent to the engineers, who'd been totally unable to figure that particular set of symptoms out because they couldn't repro them to determine what the Hades was causing it.

At NAB last year, a number of aisle-talk discussions I was in of editors were of course discussing stability problems. Several posited that maybe Adobe's PrPro team should rethink trying to work on everything, and perhaps give a list of codecs and gear it's designed for ... anything past that, well, that's fine. But only guaranteed on X set of stuff.

Apple sure runs a lot stiffer set of environment limits on users for say FCPx for example. One OS only, a very limited set of gear, limited codecs. No one thought that tight a set of rules was needed, but many said they'd trade a bit of leeway in codecs/gear at least for more stability.

  • Create your shared CC Library.
  • Right-click on a Mogrt in the EGP.
  • Select "Copy to Library" and select that shared library.

Now, any computer with a shared access to that library will have that mogrt in the Library panel, mogrt section.

Also ... this might be useful ... Jarle Leirpoll sort of created the mogrt's thing a few years back, recently wrote a book on it which the Adobe folks though was so useful on reviewing it for accuracy they bought it out and published it on their website ... I do note, I was the language proof-reader and a tester off all the steps discussed.

It's here:

Leirpoll ebook, Making Mogrts: https://adobe.ly/makemogrts

And may help you.

I believe that the 2013 Mac Pro doesn't support hardware decoding for video playback. However, Metal should still be an option under Renderer in General Project Settings, so the GPU will be used for rendering accelerated effects and other odds and ends. I could be wrong on this, so hoping someone can verify me lol. Also, when I mentioned 2019, I was referring to Premiere. I've got no knowledge of any coming Mac Pros, sadly!

Yea ... I know the fears. Some Apple stores are very helpful, some ... not nearly so much. Humans of course being human which is to say rather variable.

When this blew up originally, some Apple staffers clearly were awesome for their users, some ... even long after Apple admitted the problem and was replacing one of the D700's ... were far less than willing to help people get replacements. Had to be pushed, shown the links on Apple sites for doing so ... all that sort of thing. Again, humans being ...

That does complicate things. You didn't mention your editing with the Multicam option in your original post. Either way, I still recommend taking your footage to After Effects to do the masking and tracking work. There are probably several ways you can do it. One would be to take all of your individual clips from that scene and do your tracking, masking, and footage replacement, then export each clip from After Effects. Then import them into Premiere Pro and do your multicam edit. Good luck!

Hey there Steve

As a pro producer/editor I can relate to your frustration. Thought I would add my 2c in from a neutral standpoint.

When a new app is being released there is a lot of hype and marketing surrounding it to get the end users interested. With the launch of CC2019 being touted more of a revolution than evolution many users expected miracles. Faster rendering. Enhanced effects running on GPUs on AE. Photoshop being able to almost "sense" what needs removing in content aware etc etc. I assure you have seen the vids.

Unfortunately Adobe gets the proverbial rap of the knuckles when things go wrong which, if you come to think of it, is justified as they are selling paid for apps. The problem comes in when software is dependant on different OS versions, GPU drivers, new or discontinued codecs etc.

This is why the user community exists. To keep track as much as possible, of the bugs that are bound to plague these releases. It is great that the community gets involved by asking questions and that the forum members who assist give up so much of their time without asking anything back.

So now that the violins have stopped playing lets get real. I personally feel that Adobe will learn a lot by this launch and the issues surrounding it. I am absolutely sure they are working on strategies to enable this from not happening in the future. If you look at Apple, the reason FCP is stable is because it lives in a controlled ecosystem. And Apple is making this environment even more controlled with METAL so they aren't dependant on 3rd party graphics manufacturers. Clever guys. Adobe is just one of many 3rd party vendors who are dependant on the OS companies as well as the hardware manufacturers. Its a monumental effort liaising between all companies concerned and I can only imagine the blood shot yes of the engineers in the background.

I am hoping this sort of issue doesn't rear its head in the future but for now, even though I understand you are a paying client and want to use the new features, if you are on a mission critical project I would say stay on CC2018. The fixes are coming soon.

Please note that these are my personal points of view and I in no way represent Adobe or their policies.

Thanks Steve and best of luck

R Neil HaugenRick Gerard

You are correct in saying the tech is now outdated compared to the newer, faster tech.

However, if set up correctly, they are amazing machines.

The trick is to make sure the hardware config is done correctly to suit the software its runnings.

Most people just throw in as much RAM as possible, big GPUs, SSD's etc and forget to set up the correct workflow for AE and PP. The software is just not utilising the hardware correctly so the end user gets confused and blames either the software or hardware.

As most pro users know, WORKFLOW IS EVERYTHING.

This is the education that's lacking as its now all too easy to easy to drag and drop and begin an edit.

Ask most what a scratch disk or a proxy is and they get dizzy.

The guys who work with long form edits know this rule all too well and the thread on theatrical workflow is a good example of what to do and what not to.

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

3,5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5

32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3

AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB

Ah the "ashtray can" Mac. Great tech. Great design. But as a long form edit machine it can and will get very very hot. Theres just not enough ventilation in such a small form factor, no matter what Apple says. I would rather use a Mid 2012 "cheese grater", and sacrifice speed for reliability.

R Neil Haugen you can't add anything to that mac unless its attached to some sort of Apple proprietary cable. This is why I don't like the 6.1 Macs.

However if you are in a cooled, dust free studio environment with proper air conditioning the machine might just cope.

Multicam isn't really relevant because my question was just whether this effect could be achieved on a single track within Premiere Pro.  The reasons why I'm using PP rather than AE aren't part of my question.

Anyway, thank you for your response.  It sounds like you don't know if there's a way to achieve that in PP without using AE so I'm back to square one.
