Oh wow this is a lifesaver. Had the same issue with a Gotomeeting video and changing the frame rate fixed everything. Thank you!

Well - standby. It looks like the motion graphics it's syncing may be old Titler style stuff.

It may also be that the Preset or Format you chose doe snot support the frame size of your AE Comp. You could try setting Source: Individual Clips, Format: QuickTime, Preset: one of the GoPro CineForm (Mac and Windows) or Apple ProRes (Mac) which support a wider range of frame sizes. Or, create a custom preset that supports the frame size.

NicholasB,

I spoke to engineering about this issue. Can you place a copy of your project on DropBox or Creative Cloud so we can take a look? PM me, as well.

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: nested sequences require re-rendering

I've had many of these thoughts for years.

Say I need to create looping content. I create a looped piece and then nest it. I then take that new sequence (the nest) and loop it 10 or so times in the master sequence. If I render the nest, why would Premiere need to render each segment again? It doesn't make any sense! Especially if the only difference between the nest and the master is that it's been looped 10 times...

That being said, rendering the nest and then rendering the master sequence is definitely faster than just rendering the master without pre-rendering the nest.

Re: Flattening - boy oh boy do I wish Premiere could do that, render a nest and then lock it - with the ability to unlock if you need to. Would save a lot of people a lot of time, I'm sure!

SnoozeDesign,

Sorry for your issue. I would try leaving it in Asio and try some other headphones, particularly some headphones that are wired to the computer, not Bluetooth ones.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for the quick reply Gutterfish.. I think I got the gist of what you were saying. I provided a screen shot to show what I did following your directions. I only did one thing different, I use the export frame tool instead of the freeze duration tool, because I haven't quite figured out the freeze duration tool and always have trouble with it, but I don't think that's too big of a deal? I made a still of the last frame before the space blank space and the first frame before the clip picks back up. I haven't added any transitions yet, was going to do that after I got an OK from you. Let me know if this is what you were talking about. Thanks!

Hi Nick,

Would you mind sharing a screen recording of what you're experiencing as well as the Mogrts that are giving you issues (I think you can share them directly to me via DM on this forum)?

I'd like to try and repro on my end.

Also please share what version of PR you're running and the basic system specs of your machine.

Thanks so much!

Dacia

Please double check and make sure that you’re running the most current version of Premiere.

But yes you got the idea.  Apply the transition over the span of the frozen frame.  It's not perfect but it's better than fade to black or white.  If you want you can even do it in two or three more places in the video to make it seem intentional and also to break up the monotony of just looking at static camera shot the whole time..if it is indeed a static camera

Yeah, my clips and timeline are the same settings. the top clips are the same settings. It seems just the footage from that specific camera got shifted. I was able to quickly just shift the full clips back, but the clips that are already cut wont be able to move back as easily. It kind of ruined my edit. I now have to go back through and "slip' the footage back into place.

Lumetri Color suddenly tanking playback in Premiere Pro

Hi! As of yesterday, using Lumetri color correction on a single 1080p clip with no other effects or aduio completely tanks the timeline playback performance of Premiere Pro. It hadn't prior to this. But it's so slow that the video spends more time completely halted than not, and when it does play, it's at sub-5 FPS. All CPU cores are lighting up, but my memory is still not fully utilized.

My specs are: AMD 1950X Threadripper, NVidia 1080 Ti, 64GB ram, Samsung 960 M.2 SSD, 1200W power supply, Win 10 Pro; anything not mentioned is of that level.

I've tried clearing the cache, making sure the graphics card is recognized (it is), making sure I've plenty of memory for Premiere to use, updating OS, updating Premiere Pro. Has anyone else noticed this, or have any suggestions about how to resolve it?

Footage files green and overlapped???

I don't know how to even start with this issue, I've never had this happen. I updated my Premiere before starting a new project, which I think was my first mistake. The source files are fine, they look completely normal.

However when I bring it into the 13.0.1 and even the 12.1.2 it is green and overlapped with different parts of timecode it seems.

I don't have access to my SD card to redownload the footage to see if that's the issue, but considering it plays back just fine as a MOV file, I'm assuming it's a timecode or update issue?

If it helps, I have a Dell Inspirion17. I've edited plenty of footage prior to this through Premiere with zero such issues.

PP taking for ever to fully load a project

Hello

I upgraded one or two weeks ago to 2019 version. I'm running on a MSI GP73 8RF (i7 8750H, GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4, 256GB NVMe SSD, 1TB 5400rpm HDD, Windows 10). I firstly restored Windows, installed all drivers and downloaded Adobe CC and installed Adobe Apps. Nothing else on running. Everytime I try to open a project (let's say 200/250 clips) it takes about 1 hour for the project to fully load, and sometimes I just get "Media Pending" forever, Either I use external HDD, SSD or internal HDD, it takes forever. I cleared cache, reseted preferences, deactivated H.264 accelaration, restored Windows and reinstalled everything 2 times already and it keeps taking forever. Sometimes some clips even go missing from media browser and I can't locate them, even tho I didn't move a single file from my PC. The whole project weights about 100GB (Sony A7III and 80D .mp4 clips) so I can't really get why this keeps happening only to me. The same project, exactly the same project, opening from a 2.0 USB external 2.5 drive takes about 5 minutes to load on a 2016 MBP. I shot a short filme recently, +400GB .mov from my 80D, used an old ASUS PC (i5 3337U, GT 720M, 8GB DDR3, slow HDD) and I was able to click on Premiere and get to work almost instantly. I'm only using Colorista and time remapping, no Denoiser, no motion blurs, no heavy plugins.

I very upset since this keeps affecting my work and performance. Sometimes I spend more time trying to solve PP problems than working, which can be very frustrating, mainly for my co-workers who have to keep waiting on me to get my stuff done.

Bump!

I can't believe this isn't possible in PP!

There must be someone here with enough experience to suggest a workaround?

What app are you using to trash Premiere's preferences? And is it working for you, then? No more white screen?
