Hi Matt,
Thank you for providing the screenshot. I checked the issue at my end and I'm able to replicate it. Thank you for letting us know about it. I am filing a bug for it.

Bruno C.,
Try different media with a brand new project. Same issue?
Thanks,
Kevin
That MacPro is of an era that is long, long gone. A slow 4-core CPU, slow memory, and a video card that isn't even recognized anymore by Premiere Pro. Sad to say, but that hardware is just old. You'd probably do better to stay in 2017 or 2018 versions with it.

I have a slew of Essential Graphic templates on my main desktop machine.
I can't figure out how to synch these templates so I can use them when I take a project on an external HD to edit on the road with a laptop ...
Thxt Kevin-Monahan - upvoted - but no one else has and I don't think it's going to be addressed that way. What do I do to fix this?
Store those mogrts in a CC Library that your laptop also accesses. Typically after you've used them on that laptop while connected to wifi, they're now on the local file storage for that Library also. Test this out.

Hey Neil,
Yes, I'm using 2018 12.1.2 without any problems but I want to use the new 13.0.1 version - its the newest and has more features that I'd like to use and I'm paying for it...
Thanks,
Steve
I think this is something that's been acknowledged somewhere ... ergo, probably being worked on. I went & voted though myself.
Neil
Hey there Angelo. I really apologize for this problem. I believe we have a fix coming in an update shortly. I'll have to ask for your patience until then.
Thanks,
Kevin
Been there ... had to wait something like four months once until the bug what was eating my machine got properly fixed.
But you're also paying for the whole host of previous apps available. Which means you can keep working while bugging them about the new version's bug. As I did ... with gleeful abandon, of course!
Neil
Okay - thx Kevin and Neil... standing by!
Just got off the chat with an Adobe tech support rep -- the solution to my problem was to render audio for the sequence. Hope this helps someone.
I think that Neil has the general idea you should be going for, rotoworld. Your name hints at what you might be good at, "rotoscoping." With that, you might want to combine masks with the blend modes and opacity drops, in addition to manipulating speed.
Thanks,
Kevin
thesheenmachine,
To solve that, nest the clip, then render and replace. If that doesn't work for you, let us know.
Cheers,
Kevin
Haha... “gleeful”?... well....
yea, my 2018 is used everyday, but they shouldn’t release stuff without de-bugging more thoroughly - I know it’s tough but it’s what they signed up for to provide. We really shouldn’t be Beta Testers for what we are paying for, imo...
Thank you,
Steve

Moving this query to Premiere Pro CC community.
NicholasB,
Do these clips share the same audio track? Have you tried changing "Audio Follows Video?"
Thanks,
Kevin
Split the video a frame before the gap. Move the in point of the second clip so the gap is gone. So basicall you have two clips with some space between where the gap was. Now right click on the first clip and go to time>freeze on last frame then move the out point to meet the in point of the second clip. So now the video will just freeze for the duration of time where the person walked in front of the frame.
Now you can add any type of transition you want like a spiral or card flip or anything visually interesting.
To keep the audio going you'll first have to shoot off a render that's audio only so you'll have a separate audio only separate layer that plays uninterrupted. Hope this all makes sense.
thank you so much - you sent me on a search for how to do this which brought me to Sharing essential graphic mogrt files and after looking through that I realize that my library syncing in the Creative Cloud app is off for some reason most likely to do with my being an idiot. I have a feeling that once that syncs from the desktop my laptop will find it.
In case anyone else sees this post: Creative Cloud App / Assets / Files.... and: 3 Dots Top Right / Preferences / Creative Cloud Sync on or off...
Many thanks
