So how come when I do the difference mode under blends it's just a black picture? Wouldn't that mean there is no degradation?

Captions dissapearing
Hey all,
About three weeks ago I spend 3 hours subtitling my short documentary using the premiere pro Caption system.
Now I wanted to make some adjustments to the premiere pro file, only to find that all my captions are gone! The only remaining caption is the very first one,
Where can I find the rest of my captions? I've checked all the prior auto save files and neither of them have the captions inside them. I could always redo them of course, but that would be such a waste of time. Additionally, I don't want to be duped by this problem a second time in the future.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Re: Dell XPS 15 9560 Reverse Speed Lag
Hi Kevin,
We managed to find a temporary fix of transcoding the file, however this isn't always successful in an already editing timeline, or when combined with warp stabiliser - so still hoping on a proper fix.
Cheers,
Kall
Re: Captions dissapearing
Try auto save or a backup.
Re: Start up error 'could not find user document directory'

Re: Exporting proxies without relinking to source in CC 2015.3
It would be useful if there was just an option in de export media dialog that lets you choose to use the full res or the proxy media. Selecting all your media and making the full res offline prior to export is a major hassle when you are doing big projects, with merged clips and also have all your media sorted in bins.
Re: Unknown exception on frame 0 in Warp Stabilizer
I recently had this problem with CC2018 and warp stabilizer. It occurred during playback but not during export.
I fixed the problem by watching my playback and waiting for the warning to appear. I then disabled a block of clips around the problem area (about 20 seconds worth of footage) and enabling them one by one until the warning message appeared. I took warp stabilizer off of the offending clip and no more problem. Oddly enough the 'bad' clip appeared about 10 seconds AFTER the warning message popped up during playback.
I hope this helps others as there doesn't seem to be many solutions for this particular problem online.

Try resetting preferences.

Re: How many generations of .mp4 till quality degrades?
now this isn't confusing. If I export out a .mts clip as high quality cineform and use difference under blend modes there is some degradation but not with .mp4 weird
Re: How many generations of .mp4 till quality degrades?
how many more times can I seriously keep exporting a .mp4 clip before degration occurs?
Once.
Whether or not you can see that degradation is a different question.
Re: How many generations of .mp4 till quality degrades?
4TB large when transcoded I need them on an HDD.

Re: Lumetri (all effects) not updating preview file in Program Monitor.
On a side note, Preview is on the left, in the Source Monitor. So...no one sees the preview in the Program Monitor, they see the program.
You'd say the image in the Program Monitor isn't being updated.
Re: Video settings for New Zealand
You're sequence settings should match your footage frame rate. So check the footage, proceed accordingly.
Re: How many generations of .mp4 till quality degrades?
so how come if I export a .mts clip as cineform high quality and put that clip one track above the .mts clip and choose blending mode difference there is visible pixels which shows degradtion but if I do the same thing with a .mp4 file there is nothing there? From what I can see cineform reduces the quality more than .mp4
Here is cineform high quality with difference blending mode turned on
Here is .mp4 from the .mts clip with much less degradation. I don't see any degradtion with the .mp4 file and both cineform and .mp4 came from the same .mts clip
Re: How many generations of .mp4 till quality degrades?
that doesn't help me as I edit some projects on a laptop and I can't hitch up a regular internal drive

Re: 4GB RAM not suficient - what to do.
Hi, lavern_johnzen. Really? I am glad to hear that someone does have the exactly same system as my laptop and is able to use adobe premier pro without any problem. I'm about to return my laptop which has 4 GB RAM and 1TB Hard Drive as well since I'm afraid I won't be able to use it with adobe premier pro. I just bought it yesterday and have not unpacked it yet. So, I was thinking, I would just go back to the shop and exchange to a laptop with 8 GB instead and pay more money for it. But now, I think, I will give it a go

Re: Adding beginning keyframe negates adjustment layer effect in premiere?
I can't reproduce the issue here using PP 12.0.1 on Windows 10 Pro (1709). Everything works as expected.
