It might be.

Can you please post your system information.

Here are the steps to collect one.

  1. Go to Start Menu and search for System Information.
  2. Once launched go to File menu>Save as
  3. This will save it as a .NFO file, please attach it in the Email and send.

Re: The Project file has been Modified Since the last save?

I have part of this problem working offline. I have used Premiere Pro for years and never had this message: "The project file has been modified since the last save ..." until 2/17/ 2019. I have been getting this and saving anyway. Only today, 10 days later, have I discovered the project file I thought I was saving has not been saved. It started out on my external drive. Now I find that it is saved on my hard drive Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/13.0/Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save/ Shock!! There are files in there dating back to October, 2018. But I never was aware of it, never got this message until February, 2019.

I found a setting in the menu item "Project manager" called "Destination Path" which is the Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/13.0/ . Could that be it? I'm going to try changing the Destination Path to be the same as my project and see if I can get Premiere to keep the latest version on the external drive where I want it.

I hope that solves the problem of Auto-Save being the main file. I always thought my project file should be the latest and the Auto-Save was just for backup.

Re: Premiere Pro Crashes When Dragging Clip To Timeline

Re: The Project file has been Modified Since the last save?

Now I see that all my scratch disk is set to Documents. I changed the Destination Path to my external drive where there are 9TB. This requires the project to be saved. It is 200MB! Wow. The dialog says the original project file size was 968MB. Why should it be less in size? Why when I say to save it does it say "copying media"?

Totallly unacceptable outrageous hall of horrors for me. Now there is a new folder called "Copied_ProgrammableYogaMat and in it are some of the PSD files in the project that are on the external drive. There are new previews folders, a new copy of an mp4 that is on the external drive, and a new Media Cache folder. The new project file is in the "Copied ... " folder right under the original project file. Versionitis ER.

Please someone tell me how I can create a project file on the external drive, save it as I work, and not have auto-save auto-switch everything to the scratch drive.

Re: Red screen after rendering video

I've tried the above and it still doesn't help. I don't have the 'Enable accelerated H.264 option'. Only 'Enable hardware accelerated decoding'. The solution you provided above only works if you have red screens in your timeline. I don't have any red screens in my timeline on Premiere Pro, only red screens when I render the final product.

I used media encoder to compress the clip to 720p, and there are less red screens. I'm just going to manually find the areas with red screens then render those few parts again. So I might have 12 different clips at the end of the day, but it might be my only solution. Let me see if it works.

Please try and suggest anything else that helps.

Re: Probleme Ducking Premiere pro cc2017

Hi stephanet26879842,

Automatic audio ducking is available in the newer version of Premiere Pro. If you don't have that feature, most likely you could be running an older version of Premiere Pro. Please let us know the exact version of Premiere Pro that you are using (FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using? ). Also, you may check if you have an update available for Premiere Pro in the creative cloud desktop app.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Re: Click and drag to apply effect preset?

I think you're misunderstanding.

This isn't an effect I need to apply once, in one go, to a lot of clips.

I need to be applying this effect to many clips over the course of my editing, as I drag them into the timeline.

Some need the effect, some don't.

In order to paste the effect, I have to copy it first.

During the course of editing, I'm copying and pasting clips, sequences, etc. so I have to re-copy the effect for your idea to work.

That means finding a clip that has the effect, clicking the Motion tab, Command C.

Then find the clip I want to apply it to, Command V.

More work than typing in the scale.

I have a mix of clips in the timeline. Some need the effect, some don't.

I ought to be able to quickly call an effect preset to a selected clip with a keyboard shortcut. It's ludicrous that that isn't an option.

I could even find a third-party solution, if only there was a keyboard shortcut to apply a selected preset. But literally, the only way to utilize an effect preset is to click and then drag it across the screen. It's crazy!

Re: Unable to drag a adobe stock template to my timeline

Re: Unable to drag a adobe stock template to my timeline

That mogrt requires you to be on Pr2019. It works fine on my rig in 2019, but will not work in 2018.

Re: Click and drag to apply effect preset?

The key-board shorts list is already rather long. And it needs a LOT more basic keys added, such as re-creating the extensive key-shorts that are still available for the old "legacy" Titler for use with the Essential Graphics panel and the text/graphic items there-in.

Please feel free to post on their UserVoice system the wish for added key-shorts for adding an effect preset via shortcut. If enough other users "pile one" and vote for it, it would be considered and potentially adopted. After posting your request, how about making a new thread here with a statement of what you want and a link for others to go vote for it?

Re: text is unsharp

Hi koosv15410064,

We would need more info to troubleshoot the issue properly. Please let us know if it's a text layer that you have created in Premiere Pro or is it an image or video that contains text in it. If it's an image or video file then please provide its frame size. Also, please provide your sequence settings for the timeline you are using. We’re here to help, just need more info.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Re: Premiere Pro Crashes When Dragging Clip To Timeline

Premiere Pro Can't open anything anymore

I was working on project in the latest version of Premiere Pro when suddenly the program just closed.

After starting it up again, I get the welcome screen fine, but when I try to open any project, I just get a black screen and the Mac beachball spinning.

I rebooted, same thing.
I updated the program, still the same thing.I'm paralyzed here now. I guess I can install an older version, but all of the work from the past two weeks will be gone.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on?

Re: Fast Color Correction & Lumetri have different white balance outcomes

Just testing ... the Lumetri/FC difference seems to be between 0 and maybe 4* or so of hue. When there is a difference, the Lumetri is towards yellow a titch, FC towards red. A very small amount but measurable.

FC ... hath some issues in the math in a couple places. I avoid that religiously.

Also, I used to use a white-card more than now, as all that does is match white-points. If you have a cast all through the image, it doesn't do anything about matching mids/shadows. This is of course common across all apps, Resolve is the same. So a white-point is only really a starting point for removing color casts.

For my first pass neutralizing clips, I tend to actually use the Shadow/Highlight "tint" wheels of the Creative tab more while watching Vectorscope YUV. Rarely bother with white-point.

Also, in the Basic tab's Temperature & Tint controls, the Temp control balances R/B channel white points against each other, the Tint channel balances R/B white point against G white point. Just for general information. Again, watch the Vectorscope YUV when working with that as much or more than your image.

Re: Footage oscillates between cool and warm tones

Hi LittleCoffeeFox,

As you mentioned that it's happening while filming. It seems like an Auto White Balance issue. Are you using Auto White Balance on your cameras? Because usually, any slight change in the lighting may trigger Auto White Balance to compensate and cause such small changes in the color temperature. If this is what is happening you may want to lock the White Balance manually to have consistency between shots. Also, different cameras can meter light differently causing the exact same color temperature value to look slightly different. You may want to test these too for getting the best White Balance match between different cameras.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Re: Fast Color Correction & Lumetri have different white balance outcomes

Hi Sumeet

Thanks for getting back to me. yes, I was using the eye dropper tool from both Lumetri & FC on the same video (duplicated) in the same spot. I can post the image if it helps.

I also use the YUV, Luma & RGB scopes.
