GTX 1060 6GB for 4k Export ?

$

I work on small projects with Sony a6300 log files. Most of the projects have mixed footages of 1080p 120fps and 4K 23.976fps. So I have to rescale either 4k to 1080 or 1080 to 4k. I have Intel i7 4770 (not K) with 8GB of DDR3 and 128GB SSD. I use only the onboard HD 4600 GPU to render with little twicks of Lumetri (3D LUT is a must). My onboard GPU remains 100% busy and the CPU reamins 70 to 80 %. Sometime the render fails and sometimes it takes more than 3 hours for a 5 minutes project. I know I require a GPU. Shall the GTX 1060 6GB mini help boosting the speed enough ? As I don't want to change my entire system right now. I may even add one more 8GB DDR3 on my Asus H97 Plus.

Pipeline taking shape many thanks  to all contributors.

Overall philosophy is to destress the primary timeline, making edit and render faster/more robust.

all Grading has been moved to the end of pipeline.

The Compromise of baking in a 3K lower resolution and the anamorphic desqueeeze to 10 bit GH5 video files (i.e non raw) seems for The moment to be a very good trade off.

Proxy files will probably be used aswell as some of the process will be passed to other team members.

Dynamic links are used to connect to after effects for basic SFX (stabalazation) but then a subsequent rendered file is placed above this in the timeline. So the playback and render is not using any dynamic links.

Separate issue of trashcan 2013 GPUs overheating (corrupting image) continues in all intense and long rendering regardless of codecs. and have checked in to genius bar, but appears i have missed etc free recall deadline.  Many thanks to all who provided information on this.

My timecode absolutely not showing applied to my Adjustment layer. So I spent so much time to figure out why. I switched to only software mode from Open CL, but it still did not show the timecode. Then I tried to export it out and finally it showed up in the preview screen. So in Premiere 2019 it is definitely a bug.

Hi

I'm in the middle of a deadline project, it should be supersimple but now i'm failing, as everything looks good in the project, but when trying to export, this is what I get:

My export setting are:

export settings.PNG

In the project everything looks good, this flickering only appears when I export the media.

Sequence setting looks like this

sequence.PNG

I would really appreciate any help, I'm clueless what's the issue!

Thank you in advance!

Not sure what's going on here. I've been through lists of processors that include quick sync and this is definitely one of them.

Newest version of CC Premiere.

Windows 10 64bit

Intel i7 8700k

16gb Ram

GTX 1060 gpu

It might be because of Quick Sync feature disabled from Intel settings, this happens especially if you have a discrete GPU (in your case GTX 1060) which might have disabled the integrated GPU of Intel thus you cant use the Intel Quick Sync Feature.

If you see the  system requirements for  Hardware acceleration it mentions that Intel GPU must be enabled  - Adobe Premiere Pro CC System Requirements

Hi

This would be a very interesting thread for you to refer to and it has a link with which you can benchmark

GPU not being used in Adobe Premiere 2018

As Bill Engeler  said in that thread  "GPU acceleration is only used for certain things. If you don't have any GPU accelerated effects on your timeline, or you are not resizing when you transcode , it's mostly all Cpu."

It should help you understand how Premiere uses hardware to render

You need to provide the error log why render have failed, as per my knowledge the render shouldn't fail just because the system doesn't have the high-end GPU although it could be due to heating of the system. GTX 1060 6GB min can help in reducing the render time but main when you're encoding GPU accelerated effects i.e. Lumetri but CPU is equally important getting an Upgrade to CPU i.e. 7th or 8th generation would really speed up the rendering.

Read the following forum - Which is more important for editing, CPU or GPU?

Moving Premiere project to new PC inc. cache files (.cfa, .pek, etc.)

Very big project - about 14TB of H.264 footage shot over 3 months (a7sii's & gopro's).

"Media Cache Files" is about 300GB, with the .cfa files being the large files - Premiere seems to make those for any media that doesn't have uncompressed 48kHz audio. Luckily the Sony rushes do have uncompressed, but not the gopro's. I had "save .pek and .cfa files next to original media" unticked. (With hindsight I would have kept this ticked perhaps. The reason I didn't is that I have been using a fast SSD for all these cache files which I assumed would help Premiere out.

I didn't anticipate that I now need to work abroad on a laptop. I already have the rushes and the proxy files on two big external drives, but it took Premiere about 4-5 days to make all those cache files, plus all the .pek peak files in the "Peak Files" folder.

Can I copy the "Media Cache Files" folder onto one of the external drives and then is it as simple as pointing the folder settings to the new folders in Prefs>Media cache? Somehow I doubt it and I haven't found much on this. Most posts and videos are about moving it from here on out, or on deleting cache files.

Any help appreciated.

Disable Hardware Encoding in Export Settings > Encoder Settings > change it to Software Encoding and try exporting again.

With a UHD-Monitor (LG 32UD99 / 3840 x 2160) you can't use Premiere Pro, because menu-text is only 1,5mm high. This is an unacceptable condition for a professional program. Developers should keep up with screen resolutions.
DaVinci Resolve works perfect (full version for 300.- USD). My Adress: admin@hd-production.ch

Thank you for the tipp, but it didn't help. Also I tried to copypaste the sequence content in a new project, that also failed. Bitrate encoding is on CBR, but also tried other options, it didn't help...

What is the version of Premiere pro your using, Premiere Pro CC 2018 is version 12.0 and Auto Ducking was introduced in version 12.1 in April 2018

Does it happen with every new Premiere Pro project or with one of the project only?

If It is the issue only with the particular project then it could be that hard drive is getting full, just check drive have the sufficient space or it can also be due to some video effect or transitions. To troubleshoot it I would Mark shorter IN & OUT's and then try to find the duration which is causing the issue if it happens after 60% of the export then start checking in the reserve order (end of the timeline to the start of the timeline).

Try using the Media Encoder, it might help...or export is some other format like .mov or avi & then convert to MP4 using Media Encoder.
