I wouldn't edit without at least 5 drives, 8 is better.  if you are limited to four you are stuck.

How about USB 3 ports?

I see you to are living in the past hard drive era.  With the speeds we are now seeing with SSD drives you no longer have to spread your projects out over many drives to get very comfortable editing performance.

If you can get the new USB 3.1 ports on the motherboard you will be even better off with twice the performance of the USB 3.0 speeds.

Hi

Is there a way to import file descriptions of a from a googledrive doc into a Premiere project. All shots have been logged onto a googledrive and would save me having to copy and paste or redo.

I'm on Premiere 2015

Thanks in advance

Jason

Maybe your image is with CMYK or LAB color format. Go to photoshop and change the color mode to RGB and re save it as your desired format. Maybe it will work.....

My narration volume is very low when I add narration into an existing video. I have elements premiere.

Re: CC2015 - Out of Memory / Leaking like sieve

I am also having trouble exporting my project due to memory issues.

Screen Shot 2015-09-06 at 8.59.21 AM.png

I am also on a macbook pro retina 2014 2.5GHz Inter Core i7 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 running Mavericks 10.9.5.

I am trying to export my project so I can put it into encore for burning a dvd (since old people... technology... you know)...  You can see some of my export settings in the background of the screenshot.  I tried rendering the project "from in to out" in the sequence menu and that worked, but it didn't help me in exporting the project.  Before rendering in to out, I got to about 6% completion before running out of memory due to this issue.  After rendering 'in to out' I have consistently hit 12% or 13% completion and then it crashes.

This is really sad, as this isn't the first problem I've had with apps in the CC.  Each problem having me scratching my head for days to weeks and making clients very unhappy.....  Very unhappy.

If you are going to release software in the cloud as "updates" like this... PUT A WARNING SAYING THE NEWEST VERSIONS ARE OFTEN BUGGY.  We are NOT beta testers.  We are people forking out real money for this CC subscription crap and not even being able to get through projects.  We can be waiting on these updates for months.  These problems have existed for MONTHS and people still get the all happy and nice prompt to "update" to 2015.

Re: 4k sequence export to 1080 question...Does premiere export to 4k prior to converting to 1080??

The only issue here is that I have many layers of animation on top of my video.  I'm afraid I'll have to reposition and manually rescale every single item.  Will it work if I nest all of the animation and then scale it down into the 1080 sequence?

Yes, but if I edit in 4K and I crop some of my footage by zooming into it at 200% (because I was under the impression I could do this as it would effectively be the same thing as bringing a 4k clip into a 1080 timeline, will I be degrading the quality of my footage?  If premiere pro works by scaling up the footage to 200% at 4K and then downsizing everything to 1080 (as 2 discrete steps), then I would think that I WOULD be degrading my footage, no?  For example my friend told me that in after effects, there is some setting to where after effects will compensate for the size difference on export  (in other words, If you have a clip blown up to 200%, and then this clip is nested and then nest is reduced to 50%  ...it won't blow up the footage, and then shrink it...It will just export the footage at 100%...make sense?).

Synch problem in Premiere CC 2015

Hi

I've switched to CC 2015 and I'm experiencing serious synch issues in my Premiere pro projects. This occurs across several projects. Although there's no problem with the original clips, the audio and video are regularly out of synch in the project and even then in the final exported clips. I'm working on PC and still in SD.

Please help!

Thanks

Hi Claire,

Thanks, it is a large project with imported old premiere project files in it. So there where effects on the timeline that are missing. That was the problem. Now it is fixed.
Thank you!

And as I fix them and shorten the project All other markers will be "off" cause they don´t follow the shorted timeline..

I want they to travel with the timeline..

Is this possible?

I have exported my video and the audio and video don't match. Although they match on my timeline. It's my first video built so think I may have missed part of the process. The video was very jumpy when played in the timeline.

Simply reverse the normal workflow. Instead of editing from beginning to end, reverse that and work from the end to the beginning. Start with the last clip and work towards the beginning.

Thanks jjones. Worked for me, and I'd say is a much more preferable method.

PP 5.5 stops exporting late into process.

I am exporting a two hour video. Lots of layers, tracks...

Twice now I have attempted to export H.264 over night and the project freezes. Just to clarify: it's not unresponsive / crashing... it's just not doing anything. It has now been on 76% completion for an hour with no further progress. After the first attempt, I deleted the cache, but alas this hasn't sorted the problem.

It is being encoded onto a 1TB external HDD drive which is mostly free of space...

Does anybody know what is happening / have they seen this issue before? Thak You

Hi MtD,

Thanks for your reply. I was trying to avoid using nested sequences, just because of the amount of junk I'd end up with in the library. But that's certainly looking like the best option at the moment I think. Thanks again for your reply - much appreciated!
