Problem with titles

$

I'm having problems with my titles, which I use extensively in my projects. When I expand the title in my timeline to adjust the opacity, some of the adjustment bars are not functional. The bar drops to 0% and I can't do any adjustments, can't add key frames, can't do what I want to the fades. This is a new problem that has only been occurring in the last little while, maybe the last three or four updates.

Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks

Are you confident the keyframe display is set to display Opacity?

There was a recent version of Premiere where this was not being set to Opacity by default.

My problem is solved by going to File > Project Settings > General... and then changing the Mercury Playback Engine Software Only... then deleting all stored Previews.

Thanks, Meg The Dog. I checked and it some of the titles -- for some reason -- had lost the 'opacity' function. But they are set by default to opacity. I'll keep my eye on it and try to figure out why some of them are losing the default setting.

Perhaps a review of Source Y& Track targeting would be good ...

Patching source sequences in Premiere Pro

Noting that in your upper one, you've got audio source tracking on, but NOT video ... and in the lower, you have neither. Those are the blocks to the far left of the Sequence/Timeline panel.

Having the same problem for a long time now.  Just got a new logic board...same exact issue.  This has been a catastrophe for my time and business!  Extremely frustrating.  Wish I had something constructive to add but I have tried everything I can think of with no joy.  If you find a fix, please pass the word along.

Not much to help, I don't know nearly enough to start making assumptions.

OS/CPU/RAM/GPU/vRAM, and the precise version of Premiere Pro including the dot and numbers past the dot, from PrPro's "Help/About PrPro" dialog box. Do not waste our time saying "latest", please!

The process, just to be sure you did this correctly ... is to copy the media from the camera memory card to a hard-drive connected to the computer, then use the Media browser of PrPro to navigate to the files, select, right-click "Import", and then go to the Project panel to either move a clip to the Source monitor to set in & out points or drag directly to the timeline area.

Is this all how you began with the media?

Can you play this media through either the Windows Media Player or the VLC player?

Since that camera shoot video in these formats "Movies: AVCHD Ver. 2.0, MP4, XAVC S" try the other two formats and see if they work.  MP4 is not a codec it is a container.  You may have to transcode.  I have an Sony FDR-AX100 that I use recording 4K XAVC-S and the media come out as MP4 files which import fine in Premiere Pro and readily appear in the timeline

So I'm still not sure if this is a bug or what's called "As Designed" behavior, meaning that it's not broken, Premiere just can't do it. I confirmed with a couple other people that this is reproducible exactly the way you described. The problem definitely occurs as soon as you have another piece of content next to a nest and then that sequence is nested. It doesn't have to be two nests.

I went ahead and filed a feature request, so hopefully one day this functionality will get added (or fixed).

video viewer lagging/slow due to "replaced with after effects composition"

So right now whenever i try to view the video im working with on the "Program" section of premiere pro its loading really slowly in the parts of the video where i have "replaced with after effects composition"....im assuming im doing something wrong that is overutilizing processing power

heres a screen shot of my timeline...all the pink stuff is the stuff that has been incorporated into after effects and slowing it down

am i suppose to do something with those clips to reduce the processing power required to show them? do i just have too many of those clips?

Ae comps do put a bit of a strain on the hardware within PrPro, especially with some of the heavier effects there.

If you're completely done with Ae for those bits, and don't need or want to ever change it, of course, you can export those clips from Ae to the codec of choice, and import those back in your timeline. For most, that's not the preferred option. Rather for obvious reasons. Are we ever completely sure we're done with a clip? Ever? Sigh.

So within PrPro, especially if you have your preview codecs set for decent quality, you can render-out those sections to get something that plays better in your timeline.

And Ae specialists probably have five or ten other options ... it's what they do, you know ...

does the "render and replace" do that?

I'd suggest checking what your preview settings are for the project ... then click on one of the comps, and right-click "render" is the procedure as I understand it. It's been a while since I did this fairly regularly, probably a couple iterations of PrPro.

Here's a couple PrPro Help files I found with a quick search  "rendering After Effects comps in Premiere Pro" ...

Use Dynamic Link with After Effects

Leverage After Effects capabilities in Premiere Pro | Adobe Premiere Pro CC tutorials

And one of using rendering within After Effects itself. I know for certain things, some of the editors also working Ae simply render out a section from Ae and then use that within PrPro, saying if they need a change they can hop back over and make it in Ae, the export that again. And that it can be a simpler method of operation with fewer glitches. To each their own, of course. 20 editors will have 30 ways of doing the same thing and all ...

Track select tool

Hello

Im working on a timeline that has 3 camera angles that has been synced in Pluraleyes. The timeline is a mess and pluraleyes has created buckets of video and audio tracks. I found a tutorial that was helpful that recommended the track select tool, However my track select tool seems has two arrows and instead of one black arrow.

Any ideas on clean up and the tool?

link to tutorial I referred to Premiere Pro Hints 'n Tips: Multi-Track Clean Up - YouTube at 2.46 in the video he selects the tool that I cant find.

Thanks

Phil
