Re: Remove Razor Cut

Hi Zooropa75,

The 'through-edit' indicator wouldn't need to inform you of whether or not part of the clip has any filters ('Effects' in PP) applied since a visual indicator already exists.  Notice the small purple lines in the left side of these clips in the picture?  That's a visual indication in the Timeline that 1 or more Video Effects have been applied (visible whether a track is twirled up or down, as the picture shows).  This also works for effects applied to audio.

Now, applying any Motion settings doesn't bring up this visual indicator, so that's still a problem.

You bring up an excellent point BTW!  If we could join 'through-edits' in PP as we can in FCP7, how would PP deal with effects present in only part of the clip?  Perhaps a pop-up menu when right-clicking on the 'through-edit' indicator could give users some options:

Join through edit:

  1. preserve effects from left side
  2. preserve effects from right side

Another option would be for the 'through-edit' indicator to only appear when both pieces of the clip have identical properties/effects.  Thus cut a clip with an effect in two, the indicator appears.  Remove or add an effect to one piece, the 'through-edit' indicator disappears.

Any thoughts on what might be the better one of these two options?  I don't remember how FCP7 deals with this.  If you know Zooropa75, please fill us in!

Hope this helps.  Cheers!
