I see in one of the links about avchd glitches there is a problem in CS6 with long clips.
I did spend lots of time reading all about wrappers and codecs. I was using TSC2 and I tried TSCC with the same result. Short clips with those codecs work, but long ones do not. That is only a tiny fraction of the file comes into Premiere Pro. Those messages about length were from May 2012.
So, what can I say, it's disappointing that you can't use a long clip in Premiere Pro.
