I record 2h30 performances and premiere cs5.5 imports it without problems.
My cameras record 1920x1080 avchd files and it breaks the recod into 4GB files. I use to have 3 files, but I open the first one in premiere and I see the complete recording.
I import media files using the media navigator into premiere.
