However, 1440 x 1080 is inherently lower resolution, and hence lower quality, than 1920 x 1080. So it would not be unwise to tell the camera op to shoot the AVCHD at the full res 1920 x 1080. This usually increases the recording bitrate as well, which further improves quality.
