1. Not within PP, but outside of PP you could put only the needed clips into the folder for PP to find. The others would remain offline. This does require knowing in advance which clips will be used, though.
Thanks for the feedback. Our directory structure and overall media size is just too big to do this for each sequence.
3. This is a major flaw in the AVCHD design. You will have a hard time with this one, as there is no way to know which 0013.mts is being asked for. It's a big enough issue that you may want to seriously consider doing all the work one one machine.
Does Adobe have a recommended workaround? I do understand that this is a flaw in AVCHD - but I'm hoping there is a solution based on clip duration file size, date modified, etc. FCP7 gave us a warning if we tried to reconnect a clip that didn't match in length or qty. of tracks. How have others got past this issue?
4. No. PP doesn't create any reports.
I think my original questin lacked some clarity. What I'm looking for is ANY way to identify clips in a sequence that are missing media. For example - in FCP7, clips would show up a certain color in the sequence. The reconnect dialog would tell you what was missing, etc. I've been using the "Properties" tool this morning... clip-by-clip to find audio clips that don't have a file path listed. There's got to be a better way...
My ultimate goal is to send a list (or screenshot), either Premiere-generated, or generated by hand, to the other pos facility for all the missing clips, SFX, etc.
Thanks!
