Hi Jeff, thanks again for the reply.

I am just using a usb cable from the computer to the camera :S is that not good?

Computer specs

i7 2600k

8gb ddr3 ram

asrock z68 pro3 mobo

windows 7 64bit

adobe cs6

using built in graphics card

crucial m4 ssd

wd passport essentials 1tb external drive.

all updated

**UPDATE ABOUT ERROR - the plot thickens!*

I was looking at my C drive and F drive to see if there where any different attributes between them and there was one. "ready for archiving". I dont know if this was a coicidence and it doesnt need clicked, and perhaps I didnt already test this.... but now VLC will play my files directly from F: drive. However, when i import them to premiere pro from F drive i get the same error, and from then on VLC will not play those files from F: drive! The files that do work consistently get .pek (peak) files created to go along with the .mov file, but the files that seem to get corrupted never get these .pek files.

It all still work from C drive. It plays in VLC and imports to premiere fine with no errors.

i really appreciate this help!
