While your workflow may be efficient for you, and maybe for certain projects, it's not the typical workflow for everybody. It's just beyond absurd that a pro NLE lacks a simple feature like this. At least they could include scripts or macros like Vegas and other programs, so some users that are adept at programming can develop scripts for things like this. That happens in Vegas all the time, if there's anything that you want but it's not featured in the program, you put in a request at their forum and chances are somebody is going to write the script for you, for free.
