Everything takes several minutes to generate. Is this a graphics card issue? Its even taking long to generate in the 2018 version of premiere, its just a little faster in 2018 verses 2019.

Yes it constantly crashes. I save the file and close it up and re-opening it takes me hours. It says my files are lost or I must locate them but they are still there. What is gong on. Adobe you must fix this now!

I too have had this same problem and none of these suggestions have worked. I have tried everything I can think of and then some...however, I stumbled across one solution that did worked for me. When I tried to relink my footage I unchecked the Align Timecode and Use Media Browser to locate files boxes; I then clicked Locate and I found the clip again through the finder window (mac), BOOM it was back to normal. I hope this might help for others struggling with this issue

If AME comes included with PP they should make it clear. This is the description they give...

Includes: Premiere Rush CC, 100GB of cloud storage, Adobe Fonts, Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Spark with premium features.

I'm not against upgrading the PC if it does what I need it to do, just don't want to spend £1000 for a slight improvement.

The Gopro does offer the ability to record in H.264 which would solve all the issue as mentioned it like taking a step backwards.

I'm learning so thank you for your input so far.

Has anyone experienced issues like this? File names disassociating from the video files themselves and being assigned to other files. If I need to clarify, let me know.

Hello,

I am using PPro 2017 because of error problems on 2018, from day one. Is the 2019 version stable? I have a big project I need to start and want little problems or slowdowns. Thanks.

GoPro videos not importing to Premiere Pro

I can't upload my time lapse videos that were shot on my GoPro to Premiere Pro. I know they are MP4 files and think that's the problem.

1. What free converter do y'all use to get them to a format Premiere Pro accepts?

1a. Which format do you suggest converting it to?

2. Does anyone else do this frequently and recommend different settings and/or solutions for this?

Thanks in advance!

Wow, that is going to get frustrating fast! Can I expect an update to fix it soon?

Re: Can't drag downloaded essential graphics template onto timeline

I am having this same problem.  I am running the most current version of Premiere Pro.  I just updated it today. The graphics were downloaded before and didn't work.  I did the update based on the suggestion in this thread.

The graphic templates appear in my library, but when I try to drag them onto a timeline nothing happens.  Some however do work, and other don't Examples of those that do not work are below.  In the first section none of the call outs or circles work.  But the the bouncy title does.  In the second group all three with the missing titles work - none of the others.

In the third group only socal icon burst, speech bubble, underline title and visual trends works.

Any idea why this would be or how I could fix it?

AME is part of Premiere, just scroll down in the CC desktop app.

Quicktime Movie in AVdn codec won't import Premiere 13.0.1?

$

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I have received a video file exported from Avid as a Quicktime movie in AVdn codec and it imports as audio only. Premiere gives me the following error message: Unable to import video. File uses unsupported video compression type "AVdn".

I went to avid.com and downloaded AvidCodecsLE. Installed and restarted computer and Premiere. Premiere will still only import audio.

Media Encoder also sees the file as audio only, no video.

Quicktime can open it by converting it to H.264. But I don't want to edit in H.264. It goes from being a 42 GB file to a 5.5 GB file. I need a high resolution file.

A third party software Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate will convert it to ProRes, which I can import, but it's not a very clean conversion. There are artifacts. I'd rather edit from the client's color corrected masters.

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to how I can load the AVdn codec file into Premiere Pro to edit?

I am using Premiere 13.0.1 on a Mac, OS 10.13.6.

Many thanks,

ShirleyT

This forum is primarily user to user. To address the engineers,  post details over on the UserVoice system. The more details on your system, media, and workflow the more useful it is for them to sort it out.

Some users like you are getting a lot of them, most aren't. They need to puzzle out why some systems go so nutso. That's a royal pain.

Hi, is this still ongoing! I would suggest you switch over to Da Vinci Resolve, it's reliable and has no 'monthly rental' fees.

K., there have been a couple updates to PPro CC 2019 since it was announced at MAX. The current version is 13.0.2, and here's a list of what has been fixed in this latest release. I'm using it with no issues on a relatively new Macbook Pro:

Always be prepared to roll back to your previous version. There are important changes that create problems for some users. Keep your previous version when you update. Have a clone of your system, so you have that fall back also.

Re: Is there any way to retain rendering files from the previous version?

Hi Mo, I usual have about 6-15 or so sequences/timelines per project. Some are nested. Most are made up of tiff animations, 3k and 4k drone footage, 3K and 4K (25 and 50 FPS) go pro footage, and standard 4K footage at (50FPS, 150 mbs). Sometimes I add scrolling text.

I also use green screen layers, slow motion, optical flow and play some clips backwards - most with color correction...thus the need for proxies and/or rendering the timeline even with a fast GPU and CPU. (I just started using proxies, but I prefer rendering previews.)

I have seven partitions on 6 hard drives. The SD drive is divided into a C for applications (400GB), and D (600GB) for video previews and the media cache. I also have started putting proxies and video previews on 2 other SATA Hard drives. HMM. perhaps changing the scratch disk mid project to a new hard drive on a couple projects  caused some of these problems?

I finally have most of my important sequences now rendered (between Christmas do's). The rendering seems a bit faster with this new upgrade.

Some of the 700 and 900 cards can be updated to a new series of drivers and function. I'm not sure of the details. Check the specs info on the Overview page and on the Nvidia site.
