Now what is this?

 

It all works fine until you try DV Output.

 

In DV Output mode every time you switch between source monitor and the timeline it goes to some scary ritual:

 

1. output disabled on external monitor

2. some crazy flickering happens

3. ok, now updated picture on external monitor finally appears

 

Same happens when switching back to timeline.

 

Also when scrubbing through timeline video and audio is late for a few centuries on DV device/external monitor/speaker.

 

Why Adobe screwed firewire environment editing? I'm thinking about changing my job. Editing with Premiere is killing me lately. I'm thinking about starting to work with bees or strawberries, or something else less frustrating.

 

And Premiere CS 5.5 was the best editing software ever released. It has no similar problems. Why CS6 and CC are retarded?

I stand corrected.

 

The only PAL I ever played with was with the Matrox I was testing for them.  Old memories. Thanks for the correction.

 

I dropped my PAL exports from today on MediaInfo and sure enough... Lower first.

 

Nonetheless, I don't see a problem using HDV in a DV timeline and exporting to H.264, so the export to MP4 should not be an issue.

Well the feature worked for me the other day with both preferences and keyboard layout selected... But when I downloaded back on my laptop the settings I wasn't able to playback my video files and had to reset the preferences.

 

I guess the feature still need some adjustement. So far updates have been pretty quick, so let's hope for a new one very soon !

PP has always done that for me when using the DV output.

Thanks for the response CSFoe,

 

Unfortunately, I'm already on PE 3.2.2. So it seems to be happening even after the update.

 

And I'm passing this project on to another editor, so it's not an option to leave it open anyway. I think I have to bail on Premiere for this one and edit in FCP. Wah, wah.

It would be bad if it did change what's already imported.  You'd have to way to control which clips were scaled and which weren't.

It happens somtimes for some people.  I don't think a finite cause is known at this time.  The general recommendation is to use only internal drives, no network storage and no externals.

Thanks Steven. My problem is that the more files I drag into the timeline, the more RAM is demanded from my PC. I may start off with say 45 sec. of footage, which demands about 1.9GB of RAM, but when I drag in say 7min of footage, the memory usage climbs to 3.2GB. If I scrub a bit on this footage the physical memory climbs rapidly?  Very quickly I reach my capacity of 8GB of RAM and the whole PC freezes.

Any ideas?

Flush your cache, delete any preview files, and if that doesn't help. trash your preferences.

 

Launch Premiere Pro from a shortcut and press the Shift+Alt keys.  Keep them pressed until you see the Welcome screen. Then set all of your preferences again. There should not be that many that you have changed anyway. You will lose your list of previously opened projects, but that should not cause most people a problem.

I'm load in scc format, but subtitle no visible in program monitor. How to makethem visible. Visible on manual make in format stamdart CEA-608, stream -CC1.

Wow, that's really hidden, thanks Digittal_TT for pointing in out ! It really only works with a right click in the upper left, nowhere else.

 

I was searching for that tool for a while and didn't know it existed in Premiere Pro. Would be great though to have the ability to open several instances of that window, and being able to lock it up in the workspace. For now it's only a floating window.

I recently exported a project in MPEG2-DVD and played it from my desktop before burning to a disc.  There is no audio in the export.  What did I do wrong, and how do I best export this 52 minute project to disc keeping HD resolution and audio?  Is there a better codec to use?

Hi everyone,

 

Recently I've been working with merged clips in Premiere Pro, and I wonder how you could find the video and the audio source from the merged clips once the name has been changed and the clip moved away (or even worse deleted from the project) ? Is there anyway to do that ? Because the file path for merged clips is blank.

 

I've found a workaround that consist of offlining the merged clips and relink it : in the location window it tells you the files that use the merged clip. But it's a complicated workaround if you have more than 10 clips, which happens often.

Did you start the project with 3.2.2? or did you update after you used 3.2.1? And, did you use PluralEyes as a PremierePro extension? I'm disturbed to hear that you've updated and still have the problem... that means they haven't fixed it. Yikes!!!
